Identification Help needed British Warship
Over 20 years ago I was given this F/G hull and the plan but in several moves the plans were lost.
Can any one identify from shape of hull what class she is. The photo I had showed a large canvas cover suspended over the stern deck as if she was in warmer climate.
Many thanks

You have all been very helpful and think I have narrowed it down to Castle Class. Looking at Caister Castle K690, Denbigh K 696 and Flint Castle k383. Hull looks very close.
The model is 66 inch stem to transom and 10 inch on the beam.
Now just need to find some detail on deck and superstructure.

Thank you all for your help

Nauticurso “Artur” Brazilian Fishing Boat Scale 1/32
Here we go again guys.
This is another model that Model Expo commissioned me to build because is a new model that they are selling and they need one for their model display showcase.
The name of this kit is “Artur”.
Artur is the most popular fishing vessel among Brazilian fishermen. Many are still active in Brazilian waters today.
Researching this vessel I found out that many other nations like Russia, Norway, and Switzerland also used it. This type of vessel was also used in WWII to fight against Hitler by carrying ammo for the French.
This kit has gone through many upgrades by Nauticurso (Brazilian model maker). The kit I built is their first version, so after researching I decided to replace or created many parts of my own.
It comes with the running hardware needed for full radio control operation. Instructions Model Shipways Inc. carefully translates manual into English containing many photos showing step-by-step assembly.
All pieces are laser cut Amazonian wood.
Length 25”
Scale 1:32
Guaranteed to bring lots of fun and challenging moments for newbies and experts.
Maybe you guys know more about this ship than me. If you have any information about this vessel, please share it, I will be very glad to hear it.
This is an old photo of the real ship; notice how it carries the lifeboats in the Pilots cabin deck.
I hope you guys like this model. It took me 6 months to finish it.

"just one minor point which is Arthur has a H in it? "
NOT in Portuguese, e.g. Brazil Gary (or several other non-English languages, e.g. Slavic, Celtic and Germanic) 😉

Slim Nip 2
My Bermuda rigged "Slim Nip 2" evolved from many hours of enjoyment I have had building, sailing and re tweaking previous "Nips".
The Bermuda rigged "Slim Nip 2" was a natural progression from my recent uni rigged "Slim Nip"
I just had to explore how an extended (76cm) Bermuda rigged hull would look and sail ?.
Length - 760mm , Beam - 170mm , Mast - 1100mm (Deck to top).

She look really good. If she was mine I would try the following idea. Lower the jib boom closer to the deck, add a bit more camber into the sails and open the slot up between the jib and the main and the jib when the sails are pulled in.
Just my thoughts enjoy sailing her

Hi Roger , all noted. I did put on an adjustable jib rack expecting to have "juggle" positions. With the weather starting to improve hopefully I can spend a bit more time working on the finer points. Someone once said to me , "you can get anything to sail , but its more difficult to get it to sail well" - How very true !!!!.
    cheers

A recent evening at the local center pond ...
I got there late, but a few boats were still out on the water.
Video was taken by a friend from the deck of his Shelley Foss Tug.

"Slim Nip"
Exploring the possibilities of a new sleeker look to the Wee Nips that I have built previously , - I created the "Slim Nip" just as a development from the original classic Graham Bantock design.
Length - 720mm
Beam - 166mm
Keel depth - 290mm
Mast height - 1130mm above the deck.
Maintaining the simplicity and convenience of a Uni rig , easy to transport , easy to rig , & no guys .
Result was : - a new look, light wind, high aspect ratio - "Slim Nip".

RC model Lulonga river tug
I built this model during four long years. my Lulonga is nearly whole scratchbuilt model (about 75 cm long) except the steering wheel and position lamps.
The model has a plywood and balsa hull construction ,plywood decks, from hard polystyrene sheets made superstructure, laminated with veneer. Sidewheels with skew paddles, two DC 12V independent electric motors with gearboxes controlled by ESC. Electric LED lights, steam sound module, sirene and horn.Tx/Rx 6 channel HK 2,4GHz.
completion expected in spring 2014

" Thor " - freelance design of a multicat vessel.
Some details of Thor. - by Dean Ratcliffe.

Thor is a freelance design of a multicat vessel. These rather unusual ships are real workhorses, designed as a work platform, often with a hiab crane. The square hull gives a large flat deck, with plenty of open space for a work area or for deck cargo. The design also enables the vessel to be used as a tugboat, either pushing or towing and are often equipped with large deck winches and strong points for this purpose. A true Swiss army knife of the sea, able to adapt to most roles, some even have additional internal fuel tanks for refuelling other vessels.

HARTLEY FLARELINE, FINALLY TAKES A BATH !
Had a large moment of enthusiasm yesterday and fitted the jet unit and associated bits. Then it was time to wet its bum for a test. First off, the jet wouldn't suck water without pushing the stern down slightly, (as I expected due to the boats' light weight.) I added 300g to the stern and she was away😊 Happiness filled I were😁!. Reversing bucket works very well (even though it's a bit of a blob on the transom). You really need one if you don't want to go forward forever, trying not to 'sail yourself into a corner'.

I Need to waterproof the pushrod holes in the transom but the bellows I bought are too stiff and compress too much, so I'll have to come up with another method, (probably some deflectors for a start. Only a problem when in reverse with a bit of throttle on. Plenty of power with the 2s I was using, but motor is rated 12-24v so it would scream, -even with a 3s. I'll start with 2s and see how it goes. Might have an initial blast on the lake this week if all goes well, although I'd like to finish the deck bits first.

Just waiting for some Voltage regs to come so I can complete the electrical side with the fancy bits.. The mechanical and electrical sides are as good as done, Grahams timer is working perfectly, with the water pump and air pumps hooked up (going to install a VReg on each one plus the smoker).
