The boat in the video is a sidewheeler, scratch built by my good friend Eduardo Yraola, who is a far more accomplished modeller than I am. She has steam propulsion, and sails at a majestuous pace.

- Graham93Vice AdmiralHi Cash,
The transmitter is home built 27MHz FM based on the design published in RCM&E in the 1970s. All of Paul's subs have a dedicated home made Tx.
On one occasion when Paul was sailing/sinking this boat in the park we had a passer by, in running kit, offer to jump in to rescue the boat! He was a bit embarrassed when it resurfaced 😂🤣

- WezMidshipmanI like watching buxtons club videos gives me ideas lol and some great looking boats on the waterLiked by philcaretaker
Adrian used drawings of "Flying Scotsman" for inspiration, but is not a faithful reproduction, although "Old Trafford" is also quite similar .
This was the maiden voyage so plenty more work to be done on detail and ballast etc.as the boat still sits a bit low in the water.
For reference see :- http://tynetugs.co.uk/

RCSailing is just for fun, no gain. Other than sharing photos and videos relating to Buxton Model Boat Club activities, from time to time its nice to "showcase" models from other clubs and members as seen here with the link between BMBC & HIMBC - all sharing the common interest in model boats and the "Model Boat Website".
- Rogal118CaptainWhat a stunningly clear video, a delight to watch such a beautiful ketch sailing a super lake. Thankyou.Liked by Homdadream67 and philcaretaker

- cdnfurballWarrant OfficerSo ah, is this thing mobile ? Towable ? Open the door and window, drag it down the road and all that pesky sawdust and debris would be GONE !
Actually, you’ve done a great job on it…. Now a mini bar fridge and music is all that’s left.. - chugalone100CommodoreGreat job

- RogerA1Warrant OfficerLooks a lovely pond, like the maneuvering challenge. How big is it ? It’s made me thinking about building one for our club.👍Liked by hermank and chugalone100 and

- chugalone100Commodore!Great idea, I love it!🤔
Is it something that remotely you can control or is it on at all the times?
How long does it take to start smoking after you power it ? - GARTHCommodoreGood question I could put a switch in one leg of battery to turn the simulated smoke on & keep the switch on the unit one & the fake smoke will come on right away I think haven't tried out yet but its easy to turn on after putting main battery in & putting plain water in the humidifier tank .New plan took it to Spencer's pool & wire broke off U.S.B. plug .Rewired used battery port on Flysky Receiver which is about 6 volts to power up the humidifier & it worked .Liked by KenThompson and chugalone100 and

Here is Gaham`s latest account of the - "Maiden Voyage"
Before the maiden (!) voyage, a quick head 'transplant' !! I'd like to introduce 'Katie the Kayaker' 😂🤣
It was with some trepidation that Katie was carefully launched onto the Buxton lake. An ideal day last weekend with very little wind. I knew she would float, but would she move, and be controllable? Well the answer is yes - sort of 🤔
Thanks to Philcaretaker for the video clip.
She managed to paddle out, turn and paddle back, which was a great start. At least she didn't need rescuing. Shame she wouldn't keep hold of the paddle!
The paddle blades are not feathered at the right angle. The starboard blade is at the wrong angle and is hitting the water causing the kayak to rock excessively from side to side.
Once back on dry land, the kayak was checked inside for water. There was just a drop but nothing to worry about, which was also a relief.
So, overall it was reasonably successful, but several teething problems to be resolved before the next outing.👍
