- sharpy1071Chief Petty Officer 2nd ClassThank you figtree7nights, up for sale now!! it's stupid on 4 cells, mad on three but behaves very well on two. I sail it mainly on three cells as I have more 3 than anything else.
- figtree7ntsAdmiralGreat looking American Enterprise, I remember 30 yrs ago or so I had the kit but lost it during a move. what a shame such a great looking boat! 😭
- sharpy1071Chief Petty Officer 2nd ClassThank you figtree7nts. it is a great looking boat there is no doubt about it, wish it were mine, handles very nice at speed and slow.
plenty of detail on it
- johnfastboatLeading SeamanThis looks very similar to mine. I bought it as a damaged boat and it will undergo restoration also with two brushless motors etc. it should be quite fast as I imagine yours is. However it will probably be mid 2016 before its completed as my new workshop is yet to be completed and all my boats are in storage> 😟 😯
Powered with twin 12 volt motors, two 12 volt lead acid batteries and two 1 3/4" props I am well sattisfied with the end result. A full build log with pictures can be found on the ''Leith built Ships" web site, or look under ''The Loftsman"
This is modelled from the interceptor42 range by Safehaven Marine. This is my first full build of a model, having only done restorations previously.
Model length is some 42 inch, beam of 12 inch. (106cm x 31cm)
Power is by twin E-Max BL2826 Brushless motors and 1, 80amp speed controller running on 2 NiMH 7.2 volts.
Fitted with Action electronics Police siren, and with detailed rotating blue lights and searchlights.
I sail this at Cold Knap Lake Barry Vale of Glamorgan, and I am the Founding member of the Vale Of Glamorgan Model Boat Club.
Also included is my Portland Pilot interceptor 42 which was the original prototype from Models by Design which I purchased and added lighting etc, this runs on Brushless motor running on 12Volt lead acid.

- Quarryman1Petty Officer 2nd ClassLooks very nice, I'm just about to start building mine, what battery and voltage did you use? Did you bother with a bow thruster. How was it to build
- topperlesMaster SeamanHI , sorry for the late reply , life keeps getting in the way ...lol. She has 12v system installed (she needs a lot of ballast so a 12v battery helps). she is running on 2x MFA motors at 6:1 ratio and 2 x viper marine 20's each running separately.I haven't got round to fitting a bow thruster, A nice boat to build and you can do a little or alot to her , I have seen some with operating cargo doors and cranes,(a bit to involved for me )
She does weigh alot when finished, I purchased a sack cart and manufactured a cradle to transport her.
It would be nice if you open a blog so we can see the build ........Take care..............................................Les
